… Not literally, while world domination is naturally on our ‘to do list’ we’re not in the business of acquiring cities just yet! (Perhaps next year?…). What we mean is that we have made a pledge to ‘Buy Wakefield’ – a local initiative created to encourage Wakefield businesses to work together for the benefit of the local economy.
The idea is that if businesses in Wakefield make more of an effort to source their products and services from other Wakefield businesses, where appropriate and feasible to do so, that investment stays within the District. Wakefield District Council estimates that for every £1 spent with a Wakefield SME, the local economy benefits by at least £1.70, which is a pretty powerful statistic.
We’re proud to be a Wakefield company and we want to contribute to the success of the District and that’s why we’ve made the pledge to Buy Wakefield.
All Wakefield businesses are invited to participate. There’s no cost and no criteria other than being based within the WF postcode area. You can find out more information and make the pledge yourself on the Buy Wakefield website.
