2016 marks not one but two significant anniversaries for Calder Security. Founded in 1976, we celebrate 40 years in business this year. MD Simon Cook wasn’t even born in 1976; he bought the business from founder, Phil Lynskey, in 2006 so we’re also celebrating 10 years under Simon’s leadership.
That means 40 years of making people’s homes safer and 10 years of helping businesses safeguard their security. We think that’s something to be proud of.
From fairly humble beginnings in 1976 with just a couple of engineers and a locksmith, we now employ 12 people and work with big clients such as Poundworld, Coca Cola, Jet2, various local authorities, schools and police forces, hundreds of smaller businesses and thousands of homeowners across Yorkshire.
We’ll be celebrating throughout the year, using our specially designed ’40 year’ logo, posting themed blogs and running events and promotions. We’re pretty sure there will be cake involved as well (what kind of birthday doesn’t have cake?!). We also have some really big plans to expand our business in 2016 – but we can’t reveal more about that just yet (shhhhh….).
